Heart Disease and Hypertension: Vitamin Therapy for a Healthy Heart is an insightful book with a wide range of information.  Bryant Lusk has offered to share his knowledge related to healthy living on the basis of scientific facts, extensive research, medical and technical expertise, and most important, personal experiences.

The author’s selected format has been written to make the subject matter of cardiovascular research, preventing and reversing heart disease, high blood pressure, and a variety of medical terminology easy to understand. Lusk’s previous writings in the health-and-wellness category demonstrate his passion in helping others to achieve good health and quality of life.

A thorough analysis of how the human body functions with the required dietary allowance (RDA) lays the foundation for how the health of our bodies can be properly maintained, particularly as it relates to nutrients. Recommended dietary allowance is defined as the daily level of intake sufficient to meet the nutrient requirements of nearly all healthy individuals (97-98 percent). The RDA is often set at the lower end of the full range of what individuals can tolerate before a nutrient becomes unsafe. This clearly demonstrates the link between vitamin therapy and its implementation into the diet and the impact on the body.

The medical definition of vitamin therapy is the use of vitamins to prevent or cure disease. Lusk explains and advocates vitamin therapy with an emphasis on the many benefits of their use. He also provides applicable tips that can be used to assist in the promotion of healthy living.  Other factors to be considered are the possible challenges of taking vitamins. It is equally important to use quality vitamins as you integrate your daily foods, beverages, and exercises. These factors include the following: benefits to your system, best formulation, establishing a balance, getting enough sleep, how much and how often to use them, listening to your body, reducing stress and anxiety, and testing.

It should be noted that various medical challenges can prevent the enjoyment of a healthy life. The use of vitamins, however, can have a positive impact on various health issues. Examples of these include blood pressure, bone health, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, stress, and weight loss.

The author very comfortably provides findings of his research, personal testimonies, and definitions, as well as collaborations with various medical, research, and technical institutions.  He also provides solutions that can be easily applied to everyday life. Let me also mention the effort that has gone into the recommended diagrams, schedules, and tables supporting the contents of the book.

The goal of the author, I believe, is to provide the reader with a new perspective on how to focus on a healthy heart, reduced hypertension, and the proper use of vitamins.

My overall experience of reading the book was enlightening. I gained a wealth of information relative to taking care of the heart, preventing and reversing heart disease, and reducing high blood pressure, particularly as these were correlated with the vitamins, supplements, and exercise necessary for a good quality of life.

I would recommend reading this guide in times when you are embracing knowledge on obtaining and maintaining good health, especially good heart health.
